About Me!
After working with hundreds of kids, teens and adults in the mental health field I had an 'aha' moment. I can relate to them because I have untreated ADHD myself. No, I was not one who was causing problems, but I struggle with focus and have a "Viking Brain" (I can go into fight, flight, fright mode easier than others) and struggle with social anxiety. Because of the way my brain is naturally wired, I can relate to those I work with. I get bored easily so I am especially creative in my approach to mental health. Why does mental health have to be a drag? Those of us with 'Viking Brains" may see the world a bit differently than our neurotypical friends. My goal is to make mental health fun. When we understand our brains and how they work we become empowered. Our 'super brains' gives us the power to brighten and change the world.

Our brain is in charge of everything we do.
Understanding how our brains work can literally change the way we see the world. Practicing mindful activities, recognizing and labeling our emotions, and connecting with ourselves, helps us to stay more calm. Mindfulness helps us to recognize that split-second between when something happens to us and how we respond to it, so that we can choose to act in wiser ways.
Sara teaches one on one and group classes for those who are local. She has an online class and has written books to teach all ages how to "Tame the Brain". Be sure to follow "Tame the Brain" on Facebook.
